Lift started in 1997 with their final concert in 2002. They played original music and covers. They put out an album of original tunes called Oldfield Stories in 1999. They toured across Canada. Then they started branching out into other projects including their tributes to the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. This is what became Canadian Beauty and related bands.
